Unfinished Lookout Tower
At the base of the structure there was a flimsy chain link fence wrapped around probably to keep people out. It wasn’t much of a deterrent but there was not much more to experience if I was to get any closer except maybe a few tetanus shots. Anyone who tried to climb the structure should probably be weeded out anyways.
Around on the other side I could see the purpose of the structure better taking shape. Unfortunately the construction quality didn’t appear to be up to par. My guess is that while building this tower the platforms collapsed and the builders probably decided to forget about finishing it. Hopefully no one was hurt because it looks like they could have been seriously injured.
To me it looks like they were building these platforms with an irregular shape on purpose probably to make it look more like an abstract sculpture that would function as a lookout or lounge of some kind.
This was as close as I cared to get to this thing from this side. The wood used appeared to be untreated and the plywood used for the surface of the platforms looks a bit to thin to be safe or effective. If they had used treated wood of better quality it might have stood up better against the elements.
