I first met fellow Houston explorer, Porfzilla at our Texas UE meet up. One weekend he invited a few of us to come to his town and explore a few things there. I wasn’t doing anything that weekend and Mox was certainly interested so he hitched a ride with me.

When we got there we had a little time before we were going to meet up with another explorer so we decided to check out a hotel. The closer we got to it the more familiar it started to look. I then realized that about 3 years ago I saw the same building and wanted to explore it then. I then forgot about it since we were on a schedule at the time and never had a chance to come back.

As we drove around the building I took a few snaps because I was under the impression that we were only scouting this location for later. Here you can see the top of the front entrance beyond a fence and some tall bushes.

Here’s a picture of one of the pillar things out front.

We decided to go ahead and park so we could get out and look around.

Once inside, we first found ourselves in the basement face to face with a large boiler. Apparently this one was Pacific brand, made in Waukegan, Illinois by the General Boiler Company. Nice.

Lots of pipes and utilities as we move through the boiler room.

More pipes and what appear to be two electric motors on the ground.

We exited the boiler room into a service corridor.

Here’s Porfzilla checking out an office or something as we near the kitchen area. Apparently I either didn’t get any pictures of the kitchen or had to delete them because by the end of this trip to Houston I had run out of space. Oh well.
