Suburban Underground Vadders

The Home of the Porcelain God

We walked quickly and quietly to the other side of the plant where we found an open door and a ladder to the roof. I left my camera with one of the others and climbed up to take a peek. Not seeing anyone I stepped out onto the roof and walked around a bit trying to make some noise.

When I came back down I asked them to compare the sound with what we heard earlier and they said it was much different. We came to the conclusion that it was the building settling and shifting as the sun heated it up.

With that reassurance we decided to take a look around this area since it was near the back of the complex and we were unlikely to be seen.

In between the building and a large tank I came across this. Neat! Or maybe not. I didn’t check too thoroughly but I’m pretty sure this barrel was empty. I’m sure they wouldn’t be careless enough to leave a 50 gallon barrel of Sulfuric Acid lying around.

I followed the abandoned train tracks to a shipping area. The disconnected pipes next to the loading dock are labeled “Maximum 10 PSI for blow off”. Sitting on a pallet in the loading area was a nearly full stack of completed toilets ready to be shrink wrapped and moved to the ware house where they would be boxed up and shipped out.

While we were looking around a train came by.

Apparently this area is prone to flying objects. I just hope those objects don’t include forklifts!

Signs: “Danger, Watch for flying objects”

“Danger, watch for forklifts”
