New Austin Tunnel
Unfortunately the pictures I took with Mox didn’t turn out so well so I have few of him. This and the next picture are of CMH. He came with me on my second trip since he was in town. Still in the square part of the tunnel about half way between the outfall and the RCP change, there is 2 side tunnels high up on the side.
Unfortunately this is the best picture that I had that shows the height of the side tunnel from the main tunnel floor. Sorry for the ass shot CMH. J After several tries I was able to boost CMH to the side tunnel and he went to check it out.
This is what was found at the end of one of the tunnels. Pretty unimpressive and a bit small to crawl into. Looks like someone dumped some cement into the tunnel. (picture by CMH)
In a different part of the side tunnel is this weird dam. Note the spray paint on the wall. I’m pretty sure this must have been done by the construction workers because of the difficulty of getting up there and the fact that the tunnel was for the most part free from graffiti.
